Shutter service & repair
Plantation shutter repair in Arizona.
A shutter that won't tilt, a louver that droops, a panel that sags - most are quick fixes, and some you can do yourself in a minute. Start with the safe steps below.
Then the honest part, stated up front: we repair the shutters we designed, sold, and installed. If yours came from another company or the builder, the troubleshooting here is yours to use - and if the product is failing for good, we'll show you the smarter path.
Here's how to tell which situation you're in.
Free | No obligation | No pressure. You decide on your own timeline.
First, the honest scope.
We service only the shutters we installed. That is not a brush-off - it is the same standard behind our guarantee. We can only stand behind product we designed, measured, built, and installed, so that is the only product we repair.
- You're our customer? Call us. Covered Sanctuary work is $0 service and $0 labor for life; other lines carry their own coverage. Either way, our own team handles it.
- Not our customer? The self-help steps below are yours to use, no charge and no catch. If the product is worn out, the honest next step is usually replacement - not a repair we can't warrant.
Try this first.
Before anyone comes out, a lot of shutter problems have a two-minute fix. These are safe to try on any shutter, ours or not:
- Louvers won't stay put? Standard-tilt shutters have a tension screw in the panel's side stile. A gentle quarter-turn with a screwdriver usually restores the hold - snug, not forced.
- A panel rubs or won't close flush? Check the hinge screws. Arizona's temperature swings can loosen them over the years; hand-tightening the top hinge often re-squares the panel.
- A panel drags on the frame? Seasons move things. A slightly loosened and re-snugged hinge, or a shim behind it, usually lifts the panel back into line.
- Tilt rod feels loose or disconnected? On a standard tilt, the staple connecting the rod to a louver can pop. If it's simply unhooked, it re-seats; if the staple is broken, that's a real repair.
- Magnet not catching? The little metal strike plate can shift. Make sure it lines up with the magnet - a screwdriver and thirty seconds often fixes the "door won't stay shut" complaint.
Where self-help stops: a cracked louver, a warped panel, a broken staple, a failed motor, or a finish that has yellowed or peeled are not adjustments - they are repairs or, often, signs the product is at the end of its life.
Chasing a specific problem? These break it down step by step:
When to call us instead.
If the fix above didn't hold, or the problem is clearly damage rather than an adjustment, it's time for a real look. For our own customers, that's a service visit - covered under your Sanctuary guarantee, or quoted up front on other lines. Call the office and we'll schedule our employee technician.
The visit is thorough: the tech diagnoses the actual cause, makes the covered repair or gives you an honest quote first, checks the rest of the shutters while they're there, and cleans up. No subcontractors, no mystery bill.
When a repair isn't worth it.
Sometimes the honest answer is that the product has given all it's going to give. Hollow vinyl that has warped or yellowed can't be straightened or color-matched back to health. A discontinued line means no matching parts. Sun-bleached panels can't be re-dyed to match their neighbors.
When that's the situation - and it often is with another company's failing product - repair money is money spent twice. The smarter move is to replace it with something built for the desert and backed in writing. We'll tell you honestly which side of that line your shutters are on.
From our Google reviews.
“We had a vertical blind that was not working correctly. Devin tried to fix it and determined the headrail needed to be replaced. Devin is knowledgeable and thorough and great to work with. We had a very positive experience working with him.”

If you have our Sanctuary line, the Everything's Covered Guarantee covers defects, sun and UV damage, and even accidents, with $0 service calls and $0 labor for as long as you live in your home. You call us, we come out, and it is handled. Other lines carry their own coverage - your original paperwork spells it out, and we are happy to look it up with you.

For covered Sanctuary warranty work, nothing - no trip charge, no labor. For a paid service visit on other product we installed, the cost depends on the parts and the work, and your technician gives you the number before any work starts. We do not surprise you with a bill.

As soon as we can schedule it - our own employee service team handles it, not a subcontractor, so you are dealing with people accountable to us. Call the office and we will find the soonest slot that works for you; we would rather give you a real time than a promise we cannot keep.
