What we see in Verrado homes.
Verrado is the Valley's flagship New Urbanist community - DMB's front-porch, walkable master plan at the base of the White Tank Mountains in Buckeye, built from 2004 on around a real Main Street and Village Green. The architecture reaches back to early-1900s neighborhood design - porches to the street, alley-loaded garages, varied heritage elevations - but the homes behind those facades are modern, with today's low-E glass, tall sliders, and two-story great rooms.
The community splits into family districts and Victory at Verrado, a roughly 3,500-home 55-plus section on its own side of the plan. Both are first-owner markets: we're usually the first real window treatment decision after the builder's temporary blinds come down, and Verrado's buyers are settling in for the long haul. Shutters read as permanent, handle the far-west afternoon sun, and finish these porch-front homes the way the architecture intends.
Every project starts with the same honest choice: our worry-free Sanctuary composite or authentic Normandy wood - and a designer who helps you pick the right one for your windows, not the most expensive one.

Verrado plantation shutter questions, answered
The questions homeowners here usually ask before choosing shutters.
I just closed on a Verrado home - when should I order shutters?
Earlier than you'd think. Custom shutters are built to your exact windows over a few months, so design and price before or right at move-in, then measure once you have keys. Our new-home guide walks the whole process.
Read the new-home guide →Do I need HOA approval for shutters in Verrado?
Interior window treatments are generally not regulated - design review focuses on exterior changes. From the street, a clean white shutter is about the most approval-friendly look a window has, which suits Verrado's front-porch character; verify anything exterior-facing with the association.
What do Verrado homeowners usually choose?
White Sanctuary poly, most of the time - a durable, whole-home look that survives the far-west sun and is covered for life by our written guarantee. It's the finishing touch most forever-home buyers here are after.
