Verrado is the Valley's flagship New Urbanist community - DMB's front-porch, walkable master plan at the base of the White Tank Mountains in Buckeye, built from 2004 on around a real Main Street and Village Green. The architecture reaches back to early-1900s neighborhood design - porches to the street, alley-loaded garages, varied heritage elevations - but the homes behind those facades are modern, with today's low-E glass, tall sliders, and two-story great rooms.

The community splits into family districts and Victory at Verrado, a roughly 3,500-home 55-plus section on its own side of the plan. Both are first-owner markets: we're usually the first real window treatment decision after the builder's temporary blinds come down, and Verrado's buyers are settling in for the long haul. Shutters read as permanent, handle the far-west afternoon sun, and finish these porch-front homes the way the architecture intends.
